Idaho National Laboratory - Biological Systems The Biological Systems Department at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) conducts cutting edge microbial research and development for white biotechnology, molecular forensic techniques, and environmental stewardship. We use a microbial systems approach, with an emphasis on extremophilic bacteria and viruses and their unique enzymes and biological processes, to provide solutions for the Nation's energy and national security needs.
