Cultural resource inventory at the Pompey's Pillar Visitor Center near Billings, MT. Shovel and backhoe excavations and other investigations were conducted on the flood plain south of Pompey's Pillar. Several historic farmsteads were recorded and a prehistoric site was recorded and evaluated with shovel tests.
Survey of 1,000 acres within the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison National Forests in southwest Colorado. Several sites were newly recorded and previously recorded sites were relocated.
Level III inventories of nearly 40,000 acres of the North and South Analysis Units near Custer, SD, and the Rubicon East and the Hop Creek Analysis Units near Spearfish, SD, for the Black Hills National Forest. Recovered artifacts were processed for curation at the South Dakota Archaeological Research Center in Rapid City, SD.
Class II inventories of the West Coal, East Carbon, and Shay Mesa Vegetation Treatment Projects near Price and Monticello, UT, for the Moab District of the Bureau of Land Management. Nearly 8,000 acres were inventoried and numerous sites were recorded and/or updated.
Development of Monitor Plan, Mitigation Plan, and Unanticipated Human Burial Plan for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes at Fort Hall, ID. Oral tradition indicated that several graves potentially occurred in the area, including those of children from the school, German prisoners of war, and a Japanese man buried during WWII.
