North Wind, Inc. in association with Idaho State University performs molecular characterization of water, soil, sediment and fecal samples in support of environment remediation projects, emerging contaminant treatability studies, digester optimization and microbial source tracking. We routinely perform multiplex, quantitative PCR for Dehalococcoides and the functional genes vcrA, tceA, and bvcA; genus and species level methanogens, iron reducers and sulfate reducers; and universal Archaea and Bacteria. We have also developed a novel biomarker for microbial source tracking of poultry litter. In support of our research we routinely perform qPCR, terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (TRFLP), cloning, DNA sequencing and PCR primer design.
